I saw free college and I had to read this article. It really wasn't all that new, basically Obama mentioned wanting to create a plan to try and make it possible for everybody to get funded to attend a community college if they were willing to work hard enough and meet certain standards. To me it sounded very similar to scholarships on a more national level. He didn't know where any funding would come from which is why some people think it is a little further down the road then it sounds.
I think it could be a good thing to try to help educate more people and help them get better jobs, but it also sounds like it would be very expensive as well. The article said that is wouldn't be just for college aged students, but for everybody, so anybody who wanted to could get a education. It just sounds like it would cost way to much money for our government to pay for.

This would be good for a lot of people that have limited options when it comes to jobs. Better jobs almost always depend on a better education, and everyone should have access to some type of higher level schooling.
ReplyDeleteI posted about this too and I think this is a cool idea and I think that if the government could finance this then it would be great. Education is the key to unlocking the door of the poverty cycle.
